POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the East Coast Sales Manager, the Category Administrator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the assigned category. This includes assisting with procurement, inventory management, sales support, and ensuring communication between growers, suppliers, and internal teams. The Category Administrator plays a key role in ensuring efficient category operations by providing administrative and operational support to the Category Manager. Success in this role requires excellent organizational skills, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Work Location: Onsite, Tucson, Arizona Office or Eastern Propak, New Jersey Office

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in managing daily category operations, including procurement, pricing, and inventory management.
  • Support the Category Manager with sales calls and coordination, providing relevant data and analysis.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure alignment with category objectives and support seamless execution of initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of orders, inventory updates, and other critical information in the ERP system to maintain up-to-date records.
  • Coordinate communication between the Category Manager and growers, ensuring regular updates and information flow to meet operational needs.
  • Assist in preparing weekly and bi-weekly market reports for internal teams and growers, contributing data insights as needed.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Category Manager, including scheduling, data entry, and report preparation.
  • Support post-season analysis and pre-season planning initiatives through data collection and coordination efforts.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:

  • Any combination of education and experience that is likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position will be considered. Typically, this includes:
  • Associate's, foreign equivalent degree, or equivalent work experience in Business Administration, Agriculture, or a closely related degree from an accredited institution is strongly preferred.
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • 1+ years of direct or related experience in the produce industry is preferred.
  • 2+ years of direct administrative experience or related roles within the fresh produce industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Salary: Compensation will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors, as permitted by applicable law.

Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000
