Retail Category Analyst - Apples, Pears and Cherries

At CMI Orchards, data isn’t just numbers—it’s a story waiting to be told. As our Retail Category Analyst, you’ll play a vital role in analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data to inform strategies that enhance category performance. By turning numbers into insights, you’ll help us drive growth for our premium apple, pear, and cherry categories across retail partners nationwide. 

You’ll work closely with our Marketing and Sales teams, blending creativity with data-driven insights to deliver exceptional results. If you have a passion for solving problems, telling stories with data, and making an impact, this is the role for you! 

This position requires in-person attendance preferably at our Wenatchee, WA or Yakima, WA office locations.

Your Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary contact for category and shopper data presented to national and regional grocery retailers, growers, and owners. 
• Build and maintain standardized weekly and monthly category reports that uncover actionable insights. 
• Develop predictive models and forecasts to optimize pricing, promotions, and product assortment. 
• Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify trends and growth opportunities. 
• Manage and validate large datasets, ensuring accuracy for reporting and analysis. 
• Present findings to stakeholders and customers in a clear and compelling manner, transforming complex data into actionable strategies. 
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to drive strategic decisions. 
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and promotions to identify opportunities for customer growth. 
• Support ad hoc data requests with quick turnarounds, delivering high-quality insights. 

What You Bring:
The ideal candidate is a dynamic and creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. 

Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or a related field preferred. 
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in data analytics, retail category management, forecasting, or planning.
• Proficiency in syndicated retail category data platforms (e.g., Nielsen/IRI). 
• Strong familiarity with retailer platforms like 84.51 and Walmart Luminate. 
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot table expertise. 
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). 
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. 
• Proven ability to transform data into compelling narratives and strategic recommendations.

• This position requires in-person attendance preferably at our Wenatchee or Yakima office locations. Hybrid considered for the right candidate.
• The role is primarily office-based, with occasional domestic travel opportunities. 
• Salary will be determined based on experience.
