Job Description:
MAF Industries is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join their Sales team in Traver, CA. The Technical Sales Representative will report directly to the Sales Manager for MAF U.S.A.
Job Responsibilities & Duties:
- Position requires someone who has effective communication skills but more importantly the aptitude and energy to promote technical information and processes to our sophisticated agricultural clientele.
- You will assess the needs of the packer, take their input, and show them solutions using our new and innovative technology.
- Meet or exceed all assigned sales and brand performance objectives
- Develop, build, and maintain relationships with current and new clients.
- Develop additional contacts within existing accounts to meet sales quotas, increase revenue and continuously grow the business.
- Provide comprehensive advice and guidance in response to customer inquiries regarding technical specifications, product selection, and general sales information.
- Prepare responses to RFP (request for proposals) and RFI (request for information)
- Attending and participating in sales meetings, trade shoes, customer meetings, conferences, and other marketing events.
- Maintain expertise of MAF Industries, Inc. Products and Services, relevant and appropriate knowledge of competitive products
- Perform all work in accordance with all established regulatory, compliance and safety requirements
- Willingness to travel in assigned region and to required corporate functions, including periodic weekend and extended travel when necessary in region and internationally.
- Work as a productive member of the MAF Industries, Inc. Team at all times to achieve expected objectives and outcomes; Provide process improvement recommendations to MAF Industries, Inc. Leadership Team
- Perform all other duties as assigned by MAF Industries, Inc.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Background should include first-hand knowledge of packing house operations and equipment applications.
- Strong business acumen; analytical ability
- Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills; a team-player that is self motivated
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution (education in science or business a plus)
- Minimum of 2 years’ agricultural capital equipment sales experience required
- Proven track record of achieving/exceeding sales objectives; product launch experience preferred
- Injectable (buy and bill) experience highly preferred; supportive care sales experience a plus
- Previous experience in either sales training, sale operations or manage care functions plus
- Adaptable to changing priorities and market dynamics
- Optical sorting, traceability, food safety, automation and mechanical related to the agricultural industry
- Promote financial benefits to clients providing evidence on return of investment on solution sold
- Project management knowledge; cost, schedule and quality
- Bi-Lingual English / Spanish
Requirements
- Must be eligible to obtain a valid passport
- Possess a valid driver’s license and meet the requirements of the corporate motor vehicle policy
- Must be capable of driving without restrictions
- Ability to work in food processing plants, farms, cold storage facilities, and outside in high/low temperatures.
- Travel may include weekend and overnight work
