Job Description: 

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Facilities Coordinator will oversee the maintenance of the facility, including scheduling repairs,  routine inspections and ensure all equipment is functioning properly. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Responsible for assigning equipment identification numbers and tracking of all warehouse  machinery. 
  • Collaborate with warehouse managers and supervisors to identify areas for improvement in  facility operations.  
  • Coordinate and maintain all record keeping of forklifts including forklift rentals. 
  • Monitor forklift needs and identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency. 
  • Acts as liaison between warehouse managers and any outside contractors to resolve  specialized problems. 
  • Coordinate routine and emergency maintenance tasks, oversee building repairs, and other  infrastructure needs. 
  • Assist in managing the facility budget, including tracking expenses and finding cost effective solutions. 
  • Facilitate the transportation of the propane rack, and scissor lift to warehouses. 
  • Coordinate warehouse requests for waste management and propane service. 
  • Order building supplies as needed including paint, window, and fencing replacements. 
  • Purchase all warehouse supplies. 
  • Coordinate off-season preventative machine maintenance with the onsite mechanics.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

Possesses knowledge of the job which is essential to perform the specific related work functions including Good Manufacturing Practices, Cal Osha safety regulations, food safety processes and  basic maintenance procedures. Intermediate knowledge of warehouse operation and project  management.

Completes an appropriate volume of satisfactory work under normal conditions. Produces results. 

QUALITY OF WORK 
Consistently demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, neatness and dependability to produce work within acceptable standards.

Completes assignments on or ahead of schedule.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  • 5+ years of warehouse experience 
  • High School Diploma or GED 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  

  • Ability to write email correspondence. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  

  • Ability to work with general mathematical concepts.  

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • Must be well organized and a self-starter. 
  • Must possess strong communication skills. 
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities. 
  • Must be able to make sound independent decisions and problem-solve effectively. 
  • Must be able to work with a variety of personalities in an effective manner. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: 
ENVIRONMENT:  

  • Approximately 60% of the time performing job duties is spent outdoors, within a standard  warehouse environment. 
  • Approximately 40% of the time is spent indoors, on the computer and within a standard  office environment. 
  • While performing the outdoor duties of this job, the employee works near moving  mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to the risk of electric shock. 
  • Noise level in the outdoor work environment is usually loud.  
  • The temperature of the outdoor work environment can vary and ranges from 35 – 80  degrees. 
  • Noise level in the indoor work environment is usually moderate.  
  • The temperature of the indoor work environment is moderate and ranges from 65 – 80  degrees. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  

  • Seldom: bend, twist, push, pull, climb, squat, crawl, kneel  
  • Occasionally: drive, and reach above shoulders 
  • Frequently: sit, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stand and walk; grasp with  hands and fingers; and lift up to 50 lbs. 
  • Continuously: use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; see (including  close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust  focus), hear and speak; key (i.e., computer, calculator, telephone); and lift (up to 50 lbs.). 

MACHINES, TOOL AND EQUIPMENT:  

  • Seldom: forklift  
  • Occasionally: writing instruments, computer, copier, fax 
  • Frequently: automobile  
  • Continuously: telephone 

TRAVEL:  

  • This job requires routine travel within proximity to the regular assigned work location and will occasionally to Santa Maria and Lompoc.
