SUMMARY
As an Area Sales Executive, (East Coast), you will primarily be responsible for growing sales within the Food Service and Wholesale sector. You will be challenged to develop new customers while also growing existing customers by procuring the best possible product to fit their needs.
Additionally, you will be tasked with working to ensure that inventories are kept current, and that any aging product is presented as an opportunity buy for customers throughout our service area.
Superior communication and analytical skills are a prerequisite as this position will require thorough communication with senior management, the warehouse team, customers, procurement team and growers.
The ideal candidate will be able to review, price and engage both internal and external customers within the realm of forecasting, sales trends, current market conditions, and pricing, as well as accommodating sudden business changes.
Ultimately, you should contribute to an increase in sales and maintain and expand our company client relationships at a high standard.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Oversee all aspects of managing relationships with new and existing customers; increase penetration with the goal of having each customer participate in as many of our growing deals as possible.
- Develop new leads in the Food Service and Wholesale sectors to expand our sales.
- Establish strong business and personal relationships with clients and account prospects.
- Work with clients to understand their business and provide solutions that meet their needs.
- Train to be proficient in Produce Pro & all company platforms.
- Engage with Director of Sales to create and execute a targeted sales plan.
- Project customer need by commodity and communicate amounts with procurement team.
- Monitor inventories and communicate aging with procurement and sales teams.
- Develop a roster of clients that are interested and will purchase #2 grade products.
- Sell product at current market pricing unless product is distressed.
- Work diligently to increase margins with goal of achieving a 20% overall margin at all accounts.
- Work with Category Managers to gain full knowledge of company grown products while also becoming proficient in the company’s full range of commodities to ultimately customize sales plans for customers.
- Develop day-to-day supply programs and long-term RFP sales.
- Attend Trade shows to present all company services to current and potential customers.
- Local and national travel to vendors and customers to build business through Director of Sales and management team will be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Full-Time, Monday to Friday 8am- 4pm; flexibility with after-hours, weekends and holidays a must
TRAVEL
Moderate travel including local area and overnight. Reside or willing to work geographical within the vicinity of territory
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with computerized inventory systems required.
- Proven success in managing customer relationships
- Established customer base and large number of industry contacts is desirable
- Self-starter with the passion and determination to work hard to meet or exceed goals
WORK AUTHORIZATION
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
