We are seeking a Director of Sales to join our team in South San Francisco, CA.

The Director of Sales will lead the sales strategy and execution for our fresh herb and specialty produce company. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record in sales management, strong industry knowledge, and the ability to drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key customers, overseeing the sales team, and collaborating with marketing and operations to ensure alignment with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company's objectives and enhances market share in the fresh produce sector
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and partners. Understand customer needs and deliver tailored solutions
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks. Stay informed about industry developments and competitor activities
  • Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales targets. Monitor and analyze sales performance, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet or exceed goals
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure cohesive strategies and optimal product delivery
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment
  • Reporting: Prepare and present sales reports and forecasts to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for growth

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of sales experience in the fresh produce industry or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • Strong understanding of the fresh produce supply chain, market dynamics, and customer preferences
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
