CarbAmericas was established in 1993 with the intention to bridge the gap between growing regions in the United States by sourcing fruits and vegetables from Central and South America when the Northern Hemisphere was lacking production. By doing so, CarbAmericas is able to provide fresh products to its customers on a year-round basis.
CarbAmericas grows and sources asparagus in Peru, Central and Western Mexico and the United States. The company has dedicated growers for mangos in Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Mexico and its broccoli partners are located in Mexico and throughout the East Coast of the United States.
Job Description:
CarbAmericas seeks an Accounting Manager to be based out of our Corporate HQ in Ft. Lauderdale FL (preferred), or our external office in Central NJ. The qualified individual will be responsible for duties including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting and will be in charge of establishing and daily oversight of internal control policies and procedures for all accounting functions for CarbAmericas and its subsidiary company. Other responsibilities will entail but are not limited to end of month financial close/reporting, reconciling reports and financial data, preparation of financial statements and leadership over accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accurate financial planning.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Delegate tasks effectively, set clear expectations, and monitor team performance.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and import/export laws.
- Identify and mitigate potential financial risks.
- Implement strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong focus on import/export operations.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Famous, QuickBooks, SAP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Bilingual: fluency in English and Spanish preferred
