The Position
We have an immediate need for a Sales & Operations Representative to join our East Coast berry team. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic individual with experience in the fresh produce industry. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is customer-service oriented and familiar with sales, data entry, operational, and logistical responsibilities. We are seeking a highly-motivated candidate with a passion for providing excellent quality and service. Responsibilities:
The Sales & Operations Representative will support both the sales and logistical functions of our berry program. Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Track market trends, competitor information, and ultimately identify growth opportunities for the berry division.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure long-term client satisfaction. 
  • Analyze data, apply industry insight, and offer informed, intuitive solutions to clients.
  • Leverage customer knowledge and assess market potential to identify new business opportunities. 
  • Constantly monitor the competitive landscape and market conditions to identify opportunities, threats, and risks to recommend tactical strategies.
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners to develop key relationships.
  • Develop new customers and explore untapped markets.
  • Manage pricing and inventories, ensuring the highest return to growers.
  • Support supply chain efforts to establish and develop seasonal programs for customers.
  • Sales administration duties, including follow-up, rejection, claims management, and order entry.

Qualification Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of successful experience selling fresh produce, developing short and long-term business solutions with major retail chains.
    • Experience should include extensive retail key account business development and account management, working directly with retailers and wholesalers (domestic and international). 
  • Possess a high degree of proactive networking skills and abilities. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines while executing multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Must be flexible, adaptable to change, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact and effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and growers over the phone and in person.
  • Sensitive to cultural differences and institutional hierarchies.
  • Ability to solicit and develop new and long-lasting professional relationships with customers and general trade. 
  • Strong typing skills, with knowledge of standard computer programs including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, both domestically and internationally.
  • Must have reliable transportation to work in the office daily when not traveling.
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus.

Compensation: Salary DOE + benefits (medical, dental, 401k, paid vacation & sick time)
