Organically Grown Company (OGC), the Northwest’s largest independent distributor of fresh, organic produce, is hiring a Regional Sales Manager. The Sales department has a big responsibility to expand and take care of our customers while providing top tier service. Schedule: Monday-Friday
Must be based in Northern California for regional travel.

What you’ll do:

  • Identifies and creates strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities and attain goals, building relationships with new prospects, assessing their needs and developing proposals to address these needs.
  • Creates and delivers persuasive presentations at meetings; produces product and service pitches.
  • Researches, develops and implements strategies aimed at growing revenue. 
  • Develops market expertise through networking and research to inform future planning.
  • Supports relationship management on accounts. Develops and delivers ongoing sales presentations and customer business reviews.
  • Contributes to decision-making, development, and execution of sales strategies to drive sales and profitability for multiple programs, commodities, accounts and grower partners, while demonstrating great responsibility for OGC’s inventory.
  • Helps solve service problems, tracks order/delivery errors, calls on accounts to resolve issues and follows up on special orders; advises and assists others on the sales team in these areas.
  • Monitors account sales to identify trends in products purchased. Fully utilizes company software programs to track and analyze account and route sales information. 
  • Recommends changes in products, services and sales policies by evaluating results and competitive developments. Stays current with new products and services offered by competitors and with other trends in organic produce industry.
  • Key partner for in-store programs, including coordinating in-store demos, store staff training, setting up displays and merchandising. Acts as a hands-on resource for new store layouts, resets and grand openings. 
  • Attends trade shows and promotional events, which may include public speaking or taking the lead on tabling, booths, demos and corporate meetings.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years commercial produce sales experience including business development activities.
  • Extensive knowledge of fresh produce varieties, organic trade, growing practices, sustainability movement, regional market and produce merchandising. 
  • Proven record of communicating account requests, trends and projected volume.
  • Proven ability to maintain or increase sales volume for significant or complex accounts, working at the merchandiser or corporate level; negotiating volume or pricing agreements with customers; and completing business documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop positive internal/external relationships and build trust. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, both internally and externally. 
  • Strong sales skills using phone, email and other platforms and techniques; Development of materials for face-to-face and video presentation required.
  • Exemplifies skills in exceptional customer care, methods for introducing new services, products and assortments, and troubleshooting issues as they arise and analyzing data to measure success.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement in business decision making; Business acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to operate computers efficiently; knowledge of basic programs including Microsoft Office.
