We are seeking a Shop Manager to join our team in Yuma, AZ.
The Role:
The Shop Manager - Yuma is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Yuma Shop and its personnel meet production, safety, food safety, quality, payroll standards, and ensure compliance of Company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
The responsibilities and capabilities outlined are necessary to be performed by the Shop Manager - Yuma to support the Company’s vision and business needs, ensure compliance, and maximize employee relations and engagement.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, assig, direct work, reward, provide progressive discipline to employees and terminate employment in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure that employee matters, such as concerns, complaints and inquiries are addressed and responded to with a high sense of urgency and resolve conflicts.
- Ensure Company policies, and regulation and local, state, and federal regulations are followed.
- Document, report, and submit daily documentation regarding employee’s attendance, workplace related injuries, timesheets, check signature sheets, production tickets, employee notices, registration packets, and driver inspection reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans and coordinates tasks and activities of company fleet repair, working on gas, diesel and heavy equipment.
- Prepares maintenance schedules for motor vehicles and heavy equipment; notifies drivers and operators when maintenance needs to be performed
- Operates diagnostic equipment to determine what repairs need to be made.
- Perform repairs and maintenance to company fleet
- Maintain database and records for company vehicles and equipment.
- Oversee shop inventory; orders parts, shop supplies and equipment as needed utilizing the company process.
- Ensure that Company equipment and tools are properly utilized and maintained, and repairs and damages are reported promptly.
- Ensure that essential tools are provided, and applicable safety standards and regulations are followed by the facility.
- Provide safety tailgates to employees and submit sign in sheets to Safety Department.
- Ensure that the work environment is conducive to safety, productivity, quality, and free of harassment, bullying, discrimination, and retaliation.
- Keep your Supervisor and Manager abreast and provide recommendations regarding challenges and opportunities observed.
- Collaborate with other departments to obtain the best business results possible, including Maintenance, Accounting, Safety and Food Safety, Sanitation, Human Resources and Payroll.
- If applicable, obtain and maintain Company driver authorization with DOT department and adhere to DOT Policies. Adhere to the highest ethical and confidentiality standards.
- As a salaried exempt position, there is no set hourly work schedule. The normal work week is Monday through Saturday, and Sundays as necessary.

- Responsible for managing direct and indirect costs associated with FHP fleet Repair and Maintenance, short/long-term projects, and facility improvements. Keeps records of all materials, labor, inputs, costs, and presents associated costs and budgets to direct Manager.
- Ensure Company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and all local, state, and federal regulations are followed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or at least 2 years of shop management experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent mechanical skills with knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine repair.
- Able to utilize hand and power tools.
- Must be fluent in Spanish and English.
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills, pay attention to detail with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be performance driven with your responsibilities and your team’s responsibilities by setting clear and precise expectations of timeframe to complete tasks.
- Must act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner and collaborate with all Company employees, including general labor, administrative, supervisory and management employees and external stakeholders.
- Agricultural Industry experience (preferably in the Harvesting/Farm Labor Contracting).
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Previous experience using Fleet Maintenance Management Software
- Current and valid driver’s license, if driving a Company vehicle.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking on uneven ground.
- Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds at a time).
- Required to use hands, handle, and feel; climb or balance; talk or hear and taste or smell.
- Reach, stoop, pull, push, write requires manual dexterity.
- Operate radio, calculator, tablet, phone involves repetitive hand arm movement.
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus to inspect repair work.
- Exposed to outside weather conditions, which may include hot (exceeds 80 degrees Fahrenheit) or very cold (under 40 degrees Fahrenheit).
- Must be able to hear alarms, machinery, conversations as this position is exposed to moderate to high noise levels.
- Must be able to handle multi-tasks and work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to interact politely with outside customers and vendors.
- Communication with other team members involves making contact orally, via telephone, radio or in person.
