Job Description:

Creekside Organics, Inc. is a leading, certified organic grower-shipper in California, sourcing from more than 30 organic farms across California and Mexico. Creekside entered into a merger with Fruit World in 2025; a move that amplified its commitment to sustaining a prosperous future for family farms. Offering year-round organic fruit and vegetable programs, Creekside remains committed to expanding market reach for its growers, preserving family farms, and upholding the highest standards of environmental sustainability.

Benefits of Working for Creekside Organics:
We are a fun, friendly and growing company based with co-workers in our Bakersfield and Oakland offices, as well as remote staff. We offer company paid health insurance, a 401(k) plan with matching funds, paid time off and plenty of opportunity for growth. And, of course, tasty fruits and vegetables.

Creekside Organics is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Assurance & Field Operations Coordinator to support our sales and operations teams in delivering high-quality organic produce to our customers. This is a dynamic, hands-on role that bridges quality assurance, field operations, logistics, and communication between our growers, packing partners, and internal teams.

You’ll be out in the fields, on the ranches, at the packing houses and in the coolers evaluating crops, ensuring product quality, and supporting our supply chain planning. The ideal candidate is organized, a strong communicator, and passionate about fresh produce and organic farming. This role reports to the Sales & Operations Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and grade produce according to USDA standards and customer specifications, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
  • Monitor product quality in the field, during packing, and in storage; promptly identify and communicate potential issues to appropriate teams.
  • Collaborate with growers, harvesters and packers to resolve quality concerns and maintain compliance with Creekside’s food safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with the Sales & Operations Manager and sales team to forecast demand and develop effective supply and packing plans.
  • Provide daily updates to the sales team regarding product volume and quality during harvest and packing operations.
  • Coordinate and communicate harvest estimates (daily, weekly, and bi-monthly) between field teams and the sales office.
  • Select produce lots for shipment and ensure correct and timely truck loading.
  • Investigate customer complaints and provide timely feedback and resolution recommendations.
  • Coordinate the packing and delivery of product samples to customers; occasionally transport packaging materials between facilities as needed.
  • Assist in recruiting new growers in partnership with the Sales and Operations Manager.
  • Foster strong working relationships with growers and packing house partners.
  • Travel daily within Kern, Tulare and Fresno counties, with occasional overnight travel required.

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of agriculture experience or equivalent education. Field operations or agricultural operations experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of PACA and industry regulations.
  • Experience with Famous software or similar
  • Basic Knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Fluent in English, with conversational Spanish a strong preference.
  • Able to lift 65 pounds overhead (the weight of a full box of watermelons).
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to work in cold and warm temperatures, including refrigerated coolers and outside field environments.
  • Valid driver's license and ongoing satisfactory driving record.
  • Able to travel each day, primarily to various locations around Kern, Tulare and Fresno counties.
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Interact and communicate professionally with growers, customers, suppliers, vendors and co-workers.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other managers, employees and organizations.
