Job Description: 

An avocado distributor/wholesaler is looking to hire a Sales Manager.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth.
  • Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, and credit terms.
  • Collaborate to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing information.
  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs.
  • Identify prospective customers.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development, etc.)
  • Responsible for delivering results.
  • Identify and close prospective customers.
  • Tracking historical prices with Operations Staff.
  • Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships new and existing)
  • Put in place processes in sales planning, forecasting, business planning, customer service and execution of marketing strategies to achieve long term objectives of business.
  • Maintain customer records, using automated systems.
  • Negotiate prices and terms of sales and service agreements. Requiring Final approval
  • Prepare sales contracts for orders obtained and submit orders for processing.
  • Quote prices, credit terms and other specifications.
  • Prepare and present reports.
  • Stay up to date on industry and market knowledge.
  • Miscellaneous duties assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements / Required Knowledge:

  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Prior and successful experience developing direct sales with major retailers in the U.S.
  • Must have contacts within the industry and experience with setting wholesale process for avocados.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Bilingual (English - Spanish).
  • Goal oriented and naturally motivated to reach goals.
  • High level of initiative, creative thinking, decision making and problem solving.
  • Naturally inclined toward solution selling techniques.
