Job Description:

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Oversee and manage daily operations for a large indoor growing operation
  • Will work with various departments including growing, harvesting, warehousing, packaging and shipping finished products.
  • Develop collaborative communication lines between departments for a streamline process with a result of an exceptional product.
  • Responsible for overseeing harvesting, packing and shipping to ensure efficiency and effective management of resources.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, including daily and weekly inventory counts.
  • Manage harvesting/packing employees’ schedules. Supervise, coordinate and evaluate line supervisors.
  • Fosters a culture of appreciation and teamwork, coaches and motivates the team.
  • Communicates production requirements daily and ensures goals are achieved.
  • Recommend improvements to work methods or procedures and implement approved changes.
  • Consults with others on the management team.
  • Use problem solving skills and root cause analysis to resolve and/or migrate operational issues.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements: 
  • The candidate will manage & lead teams across different departments, fostering a collaborative work environment, and ensuring staff members are motivated and productive.
  • This position will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating between teams at the growing/harvesting level with teams at the warehouse/shipping level to ensure operations are being carried out in an efficient manner in accordance with shifting market demands.
  • This will require the candidate to work closely with the general manager at the work site in Northern California while communicating daily with head office personnel based in Canada.

  • Success in this role will require the candidate to take a proactive role in understanding the daily operations of the business and a willingness to develop and implement new practices to achieve better results.
  • We are looking for a candidate who is eager to demonstrate their potential and grow with the business.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management in the produce industry. Preference for candidates with experience at all levels of the mushroom industry including farming, warehousing, and logistics
  • Experience with food safety standards and vendor audit programs
  • Excellent Communications and Organizational Skills
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Required
