Job Description: 

Bengard Ranch is currently seeking the right individual to serve as a Human Resources Generalist on our dynamic leadership team.

As the Human Resources Generalist you will provide the daily hands-on administration and execution of both Human Resources and People Safety.

Bengard Ranch, Inc. is a premier year-round grower-shipper with operations in California, Arizona, Florida and Mexico. Our produce business transitions between Salinas, Huron, Oxnard and Yuma, AZ. Our primary crops are lettuce (romaine, red and green leaf), broccoli, cauliflower and celery.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Recruiting/Selection/on-boarding
  • Employee Relations
  • Benefits Administration
  • Delivery of compliance and skills training
  • Administrative support for various employee development plans
  • OSHA and Cal-OSHA administration and compliance
  • Workers’ Compensation administration
  • Coordination or delivery of both mandated and company specific Safety Training.
  • Administratively responsible for various environmental testing and reporting requirements
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • PHR or Cal-OSHA certification preferred
  • Minimum 5-10 years of progressively more responsible HR/Safety experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Computer literate (MS Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must possess a high degree of cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Detail-oriented skills are a must.
  • Proven ability to organize and multi-task to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Must display a high level of initiative,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with only limited direction

This position is required to conduct business where employees are assigned.  This can be in the Salinas Headquarters office, at the cooler or in the field at multiple locations.  While the position is based year-round in Salinas, travel will be required as needed to support other geographic areas of operation.
