The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Sales & Business Development Representative who is driven, strategic, and passionate about produce. In this role, you’ll spearhead retail-focused sales initiatives, from prospecting and pitching to servicing and scaling. You’ll be on the front lines building new relationships, nurturing current ones, and increasing sales volume across key national and regional retail accounts.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to penetrate retail accounts, with a focus on mid-size to national grocery chains
  • Expand and manage customer relationships, offering exceptional support and service
  • Collaborate with internal operations, logistics, and QA teams to ensure seamless delivery and fulfillment
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and volume movements to guide buying/selling decisions
  • Negotiate programs, pricing, and service terms with buyers and partners
  • Provide ongoing forecasting, reporting, and account analysis
  • Travel as needed for account visits, industry events, and trade shows

What You Bring

  • 6+ years of experience in produce sales, ideally with a focus on imported fruit (grapes, stone fruit, or citrus preferred)
  • A proven track record in business development and retail account penetration
  • Familiarity with FOB sales, supply chain timing, and produce import dynamics
  • A customer-first mindset, with a talent for relationship-building and long-term account growth
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and follow-through skills
  • A collaborative approach and proactive spirit
  • Existing retail connections with banners such as Publix, Whole Foods, Albertsons, or similar is a major plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) and familiarity with Famous Software are both preferred
