We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to be responsible for the leadership of our sanitation program at one of our largest operations in the system. Sanitation is an extremely valuable team that upholds a very important part of our food safety requirements. This person will work closely with the FSQA Team, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement and other departments on the implementation of the master sanitation schedule. Regulatory compliance, program development, SSOP updates, equipment sanitary design, and FSQA compliance are key responsibilities of this responsible leader. Ideal candidates will have experience in a leadership role, knowledge in food safety, possess a hands-on leadership approach, and an innovative mindset.
Summary:
This important role on the Taylor Farms leadership team is directly responsible for leading an amazing team of Sanitation Leadership and Sanitors. This facility is one of the largest in the Taylor Farms system and includes multiple industrial settings from processing and storage of fresh cut produce to extrusion and thermoforming of packaging, as well as outdoor activities. Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills are key to growing the team. This position will be responsible for driving a collaborative focus on compliance, with food safety and employee safety priorities. The right person for this job will have a passion for driving continuous improvement with a hands-on approach.
Primary Work Assignments:
- Direct Responsibility of managing the Sanitation program for this large and diverse site. This includes but is not limited to staffing of the team, scheduling staff effectively, leadership of the supervisory team, verification of cleaning activities, training and ongoing support, motivational and proactive approach to job execution and sense of urgency, coordination with department leaders, and maintaining employee safety.
- Manage the master sanitation schedule including updating the document with the addition or modification of equipment or line configurations. Update SSOPs to address the details of effective cleaning requirements.
- Verification of proper execution of daily sanitation and periodic in accordance with the SSOP. Uphold all best practices including the seven steps of sanitation. Planning and coordination of PIC/PEC activities and communication with various departmental leaders for execution.
- Member of the Food Safety Committee responsible for cross functional assessments and driving improvements in the plant. Assessing and approving sanitary design. Compliance with environmental monitoring expectations.
- Direct communication and partnership with Production to manage an effective shift pass down.
- Daily reporting on shift outcome including any unusual occurrences, food safety and employee safety compliance.
- Lead and document root cause analysis investigations to facilitate sanitation continuous improvement and corrective actions in the event of an improvement opportunity.

Job Requirements:
- Leadership experience, minimum 3 years.
- Bachelor’s degree or certificate in related field or on the job equivalent.
- Working knowledge of HACCP and Preventive Controls, SSOPs, Allergens, Organic, and SQF.
- Motivation and drive to be an effective leader and innovator with excellent communication skills
- Computer skills in all Microsoft applications.
- This position is for the third shift. Nights and weekends are a requirement.
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English).
