As part of our team, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a seamless supply chain, ensuring timely delivery, and driving customer satisfaction.
In this important role, you’ll leverage your expertise to optimize the procurement of both imported and domestic produce. From managing vendor relationships to navigating complex logistics and regulatory processes, you’ll collaborate closely with sales and operations teams to meet business objectives and delight our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Vendor & Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with international and domestic vendors.
- Place and manage orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreements.
Logistics & Coordination:
- Oversee container schedules to align with sales and operational timelines.
- Ensure shipments arrive on time and handle any delays or issues.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Navigate ports, customs processes, tariffs, and duty rates to ensure compliance.
- Resolve import/export documentation and regulatory challenges efficiently.
Communication & Team Collaboration:
- Act as a bridge between sales and operations, providing updates on inbound shipments.
- Keep sales teams informed about inventory forecasts and product availability.
Data Analysis & Optimization:
- Track procurement metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of procurement activities for performance review.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of procurement experience, with a focus on produce imports.
- In-depth knowledge of ports, customs, tariffs, and duty processes.
- Strong organizational skills to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for vendor and team collaboration.
- Proficiency in procurement tools and ERP systems (a plus).
- Proven experience in the produce industry with a focus on imported products.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!
