Job Description: 

Position: Senior Electronic Service Tech
Department: Service
Direct Report to: Service Manager

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a self-starter Field Service Technician to join our team in Traver, CA and deliver the desired customer service experience. The goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention and increases profitability. Serves customers by installing and servicing systems and products.

Job Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Serves existing accounts by investigating complaints; conducting tests; resolving problems.
  • Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests.
  • Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
  • Produce timely and detailed documentation of service reports, detailed status reports to supervisor, installation reports, and test reports.
  • Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; along with departmental cross training.
  • Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Manage all onsite installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks, diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols.
  • Cooperate with the technical team and share information across the organization.
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations / corrections.
  • Inspection of, tune and troubleshoot all equipment to ensure proper operation of complete systems.
  • Clearly and professionally interact with customers, regarding status of commissioning, on a daily basis. Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, and assist in establishing preventative maintenance schedules with customers.
  • Assemble, align, and install equipment as necessary.
  • Travel, approximately 60% of the time, sometimes for extended period’s normal maximum is up to 4 weeks.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervision.

Education/Experience:

  • Technical degree or certification in electrical work, electronics repair, or similar field.
  • Computer / server setup, repair, operation.
  • Hands-on experience testing and repairing electrical devices or electrical installations.
  • Ability to use voltmeter and basic hand tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Self-motivated and organized, Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Must have a working knowledge of blueprints, schematic drawings, and other drawings in an Industrial establishment to determine work procedures.
  • Electrical knowledge both high and low voltage – troubleshooting, diagnosis, installation.
  • Familiarity with mobile tools and applications.
  • Strong record keeping skills.
  • Excellent customer service skill set.

Preferred Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • Computer / server operations, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Control systems networking.
  • Project management experience.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Bi-Lingual English / Spanish.
  • Experience with software diagnostics and communication terminals.
  • Automation knowledge of PLC’s and communication.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver license, clean MVR and capable of getting a passport with access to Canada.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment.
  • English literacy.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the year throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada and any
  • additional international travel required based on customer demand and training needs.

Salary Range: $22 to $26
