Job Description: 

The Military Produce Group family of companies was established in 1998, beginning with the creation of Hampton Roads Produce. In later years, Midsouth Produce and Sea Island Produce joined our conglomeration of partners that became Military Produce group as it is now. Military Produce Group is the premier provider of fresh fruits, vegetables and plants to the commissaries in the eastern part of the United States and to select overseas commissaries.

The Pricing Coordinator ensures products are accurately maintained in company systems, creates uniform Item Descriptions, properly categorizes items within groups and maintains support ensuring accuracy in the Defense Commissary Agencies point of sale terminals. This also includes monitoring cost changes and price changes effectively in multiple systems and assisting in the management of weekly product catalogs. The pricing coordinator must be able to manage multiple projects and prioritize pricing tasks effectively. Must coordinate and engage in marketing activities that relate to promotions and pricing.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains spreadsheets, historical data and other information related to costs, quantities, and customer specific pricing.
  • Addresses pricing-related inquiries from several sources, such as buyers, marketers, teaming partners and customers.
  • Ensures Promotional Pricing, EDI Pricing and Markdown changes are accurately applied in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Assists in creation of sales related reports.
  • Gathers cost information for new products to calculate profitability.
  • Maintains awareness of current cost information and supports promotional strategy.
  • Conducts Market Research to include assortment, price, seasonality, package and variety of product offered.
  • Prepares profitability reports i.e. Spreadsheets / Projections / Actual case movement and Comparisons.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Related retail or wholesale fresh produce experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, specifically advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work within WMS and CRM systems.
  • High level organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with market research, data analysis and forecasting techniques.
