Job Description: 

Blue Banner Company is seeking a Plant Foreman – Inventory Control to oversee inventory management and operational efficiency at our citrus packing house. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory control, logistics, and plant operations. This role ensures accurate tracking of raw and finished goods, optimizes inventory processes, and collaborates with production to maintain efficient workflow and minimize waste.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily plant operations related to inventory, warehousing, and material movement.
  • Lead and train warehouse and production staff in proper inventory handling procedures and safety protocols.
  • Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to enhance efficiency and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Oversee and manage all inventory processes, including receiving, storage, usage, and shipping of citrus products and packaging material.
  • Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems to ensure accuracy and real-time monitoring.
  • Ensure proper labeling, organization, and handling of inventory to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits to identify discrepancies and optimize stock levels.
  • Work with the team to ensure stock availability aligns with production schedules and customer demands.
  • Assist in scheduling production to align with inventory levels and sales commitments.
  • Ensure all inventory meets quality standards and food safety regulations.
  • Monitor and enforce proper storage conditions for citrus products to maintain freshness and reduce spoilage.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to address and resolve any inventory-related issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions, shrinkage, and trends.
  • Generate and analyze reports to improve inventory forecasting and decision-making.
  • Identify inefficiencies in inventory management and implement solutions to optimize costs and productivity.

Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Compliance with all Federal and State regulations such as: Cal OSHA, OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, Air Resource Board.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant.

Organizational Relationships:
Position reports to: Blue Banner Co. and National Organic Packing Co.    

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or plant operations (preferably in a citrus packing house or related industry).
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations, HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Minimum 3 years of Forklift experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Capability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods.
  • The agricultural field supervisor may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Work environment:

  • Work is primarily outdoors in agricultural fields.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and potential agricultural hazards.
