Job Description:

Opportunity Knocks: Lead Financial Growth & Evolution as CFO in a Thriving Family-Owned Business!

Are you a strategic yet hands-on financial leader eager to make a significant impact within a well-established, growing family business?

Our client is a highly respected and continuously evolving family-owned fresh produce company looking for their next Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a unique opportunity to become a vital part of their legacy, where you will not only lead all financial operations but also remain deeply connected to the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring a true pulse on the financial health of the organization.

The Challenge:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated financial expert who thrives in a dynamic environment that demands both strategic thinking and a hands-on approach. As CFO, you will be instrumental in overseeing the accounting and financial functions across their established operations while actively contributing to their ongoing growth and evolution. This role requires a leader who is comfortable "in the weeds," intimately understanding the financial details while simultaneously providing crucial strategic guidance.

Your Key Contributions Will Include:

  • Hands-On Financial Leadership: Directly managing and executing all accounting operations for all three entities, ensuring meticulous attention to detail in journal entries, general ledger maintenance, inventory accounting, and the timely and accurate closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual books.
  • Deep Dive into Financial Operations: Overseeing and actively managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, and payroll processing, maintaining a close understanding of daily financial activities.
  • Providing Strategic Clarity from the Ground Up: Preparing and analyzing insightful monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, leveraging your deep understanding of the data to provide impactful reports to the leadership team.
  • Guiding Financial Evolution: Collaborating in the development and management of the company's budget and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and identifying opportunities for future growth.
  • Strengthening the Financial Fabric: Developing, implementing, and maintaining robust internal financial and accounting policies and procedures, fostering a culture of accuracy and compliance within the family business.
  • Ensuring Audit Integrity: Leading the preparation for and supporting the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors and leveraging your intimate knowledge of the financials.
  • Maintaining Unwavering Compliance: Ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, safeguarding the company's financial standing.
  • Driving Strategic Growth: Partnering closely with the family leadership team to provide critical financial insights and support strategic decision-making, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost reductions, system enhancements, and new avenues for evolution.
  • Fostering a Collaborative Environment (Potential): Potentially leading and mentoring a small accounting team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment grounded in accuracy and shared understanding.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Extensive experience managing the full accounting cycle, with a proven track record of being hands-on and deeply involved in closing the books.
  • A strong and practical understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely present financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders within the family business.
  • A high level of integrity, reliability, and a strong work ethic, aligning with the values of a family-owned enterprise.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
  • CPA or CMA certification (a significant plus).

Why This Opportunity is Exceptional:
This is more than just a CFO role; it's a chance to become a trusted leader and integral part of a successful family-owned business with a strong foundation and a forward-thinking approach. You will have the unique opportunity to:

  • Be a True Financial Steward: Play a critical role in preserving the financial health and guiding the future growth of a respected family enterprise.
  • Work Closely with Ownership: Collaborate directly with the family leadership, building strong relationships and influencing strategic decisions.
  • See the Direct Impact of Your Work: Your hands-on involvement and strategic insights will have a tangible and significant impact on the company's continued success.
  • Contribute to a Legacy: Help shape the next chapter of a well-established business that values its history while embracing innovation.
  • Enjoy Stability and Growth: Join a financially sound and growing company that offers long-term stability and opportunities for professional fulfillment.

Ready to Become a Key Driver of Financial Growth and Evolution?
If you are a highly motivated and experienced financial leader who embraces both strategic oversight and hands-on involvement, and you are looking for a unique opportunity within a thriving family-owned business, we encourage you to explore this exceptional CFO role.
