Buffalo Repack is a leading fresh fruit repacking business specializing in processing citrus, kiwi, grapes, apples, and other fruits. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Control Manager to join our team and oversee all aspects of quality inspection and reporting.
Position Overview:
The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of all incoming fruit and throughout the repacking process. This role involves developing and implementing quality control protocols, conducting inspections, reporting on fruit conditions, and collaborating with operations to maintain the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and experience in quality management within the fresh produce industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the quality inspection of all incoming fruits, including citrus, kiwi, grapes, apples, and other varieties as required.
- Monitor fruit quality throughout the repacking process to ensure compliance with company standards and customer specifications.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and protocols to ensure consistent product quality and safety.
- Collaborate with the operations team to address quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare detailed reports on fruit conditions, inspection results, and any quality-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, non-conformities, and corrective actions taken.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to fresh produce quality and safety.
- Work closely with suppliers and transportation teams to resolve any quality concerns related to incoming shipments.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality control processes and overall product quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agriculture, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality control management within the fresh produce industry or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices in fruit repacking and processing.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues quickly and accurately.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with quality control software or tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to quality management.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
