Opportunity to execute and improve the following areas:
 
The Vice President of Procurement will contribute to the strategy, planning, and business performance management for Indianapolis Fruit Company.
 
In this role the successful candidate will become an essential leader, responsible to manage the purchasing of assigned products competitively to specification.
 
Efficiently build and maintain trusted relationships with customers, suppliers, and business partners in collaboration with the sales team.
 
This role will succeed by improving inventory turns, reduce out of stock, control shrink and maintain FIFO inventory.
 
Negotiate product contracts and accruals and act on marketing ads, money maker offerings, and pricing available from shippers.
 
Effectively provide cost and market trends to the retail marketing staff for the development of books and daily selling opportunities.
 
Hire, develop, and manage the performance of buyers using Key Performance Indicators, Key Measurements, and discretionary means of evaluation.
 
Competencies, Education, and Skills to be Successful:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related area of study required
  • Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and common E Mail systems
  • Retail Grocery Channel – Specific, proven experience developing a portfolio of products for grocery retailers and developing a network to service the specialty independent grocery channel. Direct and recent experience in product procurement into these accounts.
  • Customer-Team Experience – History of consistently using individual customer goals, strategies and capabilities to tailor programs that generate success for both company and customer.
  • Valid identification or driver’s license (if appropriate)

Compensation/Salary: 
$90,000-$105,000 per year
