Location
This position will be required to travel as needed to various locations California (San Juan Bautista/Salinas/Imperial), Arizona (Yuma) and various regions in Mexico.

Vice President of Warehousing, Distribution, and Fulfillment will lead the day-to-day operations of distribution and warehouse operations for a multi-faceted organization spanning across California (San Juan Bautista/Salinas/Imperial), Arizona (Yuma) and various regions in Mexico.

This position will establish the strategic direction of warehouse distribution centers to meet fulfillment needs, with a focus on efficient and effective processes and systems.

The ideal candidate for this position will have proven experience leading a diverse distribution team and implanting improvements and strategy in a complex environment. Important elements of this position include process improvement, forecasting, planning, modeling, inventory management, transportation, and warehouse and distribution management. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of information systems and how to turn big data into useful information.

This is a key leadership position responsible for developing and executing strategies to build processes that optimize cost and performance and create rapid growth, propelling Church Brothers to the next level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, develop a progressive team
  • Provide leadership and facilitate cross-functional problem solving across the enterprise to optimize fulfillment execution.
  • Provide management of customs compliance program and ensure adherence to all governmental policies
  • Champion efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with the implementation of change
  • Accountable for the performance of Warehouse Operations (Inventory, Fulfillment and Receiving) and Transportation
  • Provide direction and manage overall activities to drive solid execution of strategies in order to realize measurable improvements in performance and growth

Continuous Improvement

  • Use systems and information to drive process improvement.
  • Design future end-to-end processes, operating models, and capabilities required to deliver industry leading fulfillment capability
  • Research and implement leading edge technologies and processes for continuous improvement and innovation to streamline warehouse inventory and fulfillment
  • Serve as the lead for developing and installing a program of warehouse and fulfillment-based services into facility operations
  • Deliver a scalable operating model across multiple locations with different volume and complexities
  • Identify, develop, and implement shipping visibility tools to proactively manage the logistics network

Warehouse Distribution & Inventory

  • Review and develop processes and procedures for tracking incoming vessels to plan movement to warehouses and cooling facilities
  • Manage the design and setup of the physical infrastructure of fulfillment and warehouse service operation for items such as capacity, racking, equipment design, productivity efforts, and outgoing shipments
  • Become subject matter expert on the warehouse and fulfillment service system and drive projects within a high technical area to improve the service system.
  • Execute and continuously enhance the order fulfillment strategy in alignment with company’s strategy
  • Improve customer service through the reduction of order cycle times
  • Develop inventory targets and strategies, collaborating with the rest of the business and third-party providers to optimize inventory turns while maintaining high fill rates.

Forecasting & Analytics

  • Assess and improve forecasting of demand generated by both the capital and work plans, identifying gaps between the forecasts and business plans.
  • Develop and manage KPI and cost measurements.
  • Identify annual savings targets and develop strategies for achieving savings to maintain and improve profitability.
  • Analyze and assess industry and market dynamics on a regular basis to assess cost, material allocation and modern distribution trends.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Logistics or Supply Chain
  • 10+ years of distribution management experience, with a record of accomplishment of improving operations and optimizing costs
  • Progressive leadership responsibility in Warehouse, Supply Planning, Fulfillment, and Transportation
  • Proven experience with managing distribution and warehouse centers with similar complexity

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong leadership and communication skills that inspire followership
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities at the executive level, comfortable with presenting to the C-suite when needed
  • Strong analytical and operational skills
  • Experience with implementing continuous improvement plans
  • Strong knowledge of distribution operations and systems.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage daily operations and multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize data and metrics to drive decision making and optimization
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
  • Excellent verbal / written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of GMP and experience working with Quality, Regulatory, and Technical Operations is necessary
