Texas Farm Patch LLC is a subsidiary of The Great Taste Of Texas Inc. and The Fredericksburg Peach Company LLC. It is a Texas based operation, and is soon to be the largest organic fruit and vegetable greenhouse farming operation in the state. Texas Farm Patch is located in Pleasanton, TX, 20 miles southeast of San Antonio, TX on a farm which has been producing locally grown Texas produce for over 80 years. The new organic greenhouses and packing facility are state of the art, and has the capability to grow ten-fold within the next ten years. It is our goal to bring the highest quality organic fruits and vegetables to our customers in Texas and beyond.
As we begin this new organic greenhouse venture in Pleasanton, TX, we are looking for an experienced Organic Farmer/Agronomist to assist and guide us in our growth and provide consultation on all aspects of our operation from seed to harvest.
The Organic Farm Manager will assist with field research and recommendations in plant and soil fertility, irrigation, pest management and new technologies that can bring value and improvement to the farm operations. This may include the collection of soil, plant, and water samples, pest counts, and yield measurements.

- Strong communication skills.
- Familiar with germination of seeds and greenhouse procedures.
- Knowledgeable with organic farming practices with hands on farming experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of previous related work experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of soil, water management, fertilizers, irrigation, Agricultural technology, and organic pest management.
- Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Laws.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality about all aspects of the job at all times.
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science or related field of study.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Familiar with farm machinery (small tractor, irrigation, water pumps, etc.).
- Ability to formulate various plans and possess the fortitude to carry out those plans.
- Ability to create and review various required and requested reports, summarize and come up with action plans to management.
- Ability to manage and keep current all required organic reporting.
- Must have the ability to multi-task.
- Develop and provide guidance in the setup and/or management of our organic program.
- Help select the best crops to grow based on our location and soils.
- Ensure that Organic System Plans and methods are in compliance with the USDA National. Organic Program (NOP), and international standards.
- Develop the most efficient organic system for planting, cultivating and harvesting within the greenhouses.
- Develop methods to control weeds and pests to keep crops disease-free.
- Develop and execute pest management strategies.
- Work with and cultivate existing relationships with state universities.
- Coordinate on-farm research work.
- Inspect crops for pests and diseases.
- Maintain 3rd party inspection documents for annual inspections.
