Job Description: 

SUMMARY: Performs tasks to establish and maintain employee records and transactions in relation to benefits, deductions, and leaves.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

  • Process enrollment, change and termination forms for company health insurance and other benefits.
  • Maintain and update employee records and benefits files.
  • Alerts employees to pending milestones and educates them on Sambrailo’s policies and practices regarding benefits.
  • Collaborate with payroll and ensure that employer contributions and payroll deductions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and communicate errors with third-party administrators.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits and resolve any benefits related issues.
  • Collaborate with HR Manager to conduct benefits orientation sessions for new and rehired employees.
  • Provide support during the annual open enrollment periods.
  • Prepare and maintain employee files including confidential medical files, unemployment claims, and COBRA.
  • Track and process employee leaves of absence, including FMLA and PSL.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Prior experience with Paychex Flex is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures with conformance to the prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information.
Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with general mathematical concepts.

  • Must be well organized and a self-starter.
  • Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities.

  • Must be able to make sound independent decisions based on available data.
  • Must be able to work with a variety of personalities in an effective manner.

ENVIRONMENT:

  • Approximately 90% of the time performing job duties is spent indoors, within a standard office environment.
  • Approximately 60% of the time is spent on the computer.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to the risk of electric shock.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The temperature of the work environment is moderate and ranges from 65 – 80 degrees.
