Within this well-established produce and specialty foods company, Paragon’s JustCut division operates a state-of-the-art, GFSI-certified produce processing division. As the demand for precut fruits and vegetables skyrockets, we provide value to our customers by delivering these products fresh every day, providing maximum shelf life.
The General Manager position has been created to provide leadership and expertise specific to the JustCut division of Paragon Foods. Areas of responsibility include quality assurance, production planning, team development and engagement, efficiency and cost management, safety, training, regulatory compliance, and product development. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a high-growth business area inside of a 50+ year-old produce company.
- Five years management experience in a fresh produce processing operation
- Bachelor’s Degree in management, business, food science, engineering or related field, OR an additional four years of experience in a fresh produce processing environment
- Substantial knowledge of processes and equipment used in fresh cut produce manufacturing
- Demonstrated success in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and/or other disciplines focused on driving operational efficiencies, waste reduction, and habitual excellence
- Functional understanding of produce sourcing/procurement
- Successful development of associates, teambuilding, skill development, employee retention and engagement
- Production scheduling experience
- Data-driven performance analysis and demonstrated ability to choose effective adjustments
