Great West Gourmet, a division of the well-established and highly respected Great West Produce, is looking for a dynamic and driven Outside Sales Representative to grow their San Francisco Wholesale Market business model. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced sales professional with a robust background in produce and an established book of business across Northern California, including the South Bay, East Bay, North Bay, the Peninsula, and Sacramento.

As a key team member, the Outside Sales Representative will manage and coordinate produce purchases and sales, develop “Direct Delivery” programs, and build relationships with suppliers and customers. This position provides the opportunity to collaborate with a passionate and knowledgeable team while driving business growth.
What the Ideal Candidate Brings:
- Experience: 5+ years of produce sales experience.
- Network: A strong Northern California book of business, including retail, food service, restaurants, commissaries, processors, and institutions.
- Skills: Exceptional communication, organizational abilities, and deep produce knowledge. Bilingual skills are a plus!
- Mindset: A focused, self-starter attitude with a results-driven approach to customer satisfaction.
- Flexibility: Adaptability to a flexible schedule and willingness to travel as needed.
Key Responsibilities of the Outside Sales Representative:
- Strategize and Analyze: Monitor independent market sales performance, identify variances from budget, and develop strategies to drive sales and improve results.
- Drive Customer Success: Develop and execute tailored promotional activities, innovative sales methods, and customized solutions to meet customer objectives.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Provide weekly updates to customers, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Strengthen Relationships: Build and nurture connections with customers, suppliers, and key team members. Collaborate with Sales Managers and Procurement to enhance account performance.
- Master the Market: Stay informed about market conditions, price trends, and quality standards to recommend cost-saving measures and maximize efficiency.
- Optimize Logistics: Partner with the transportation team to coordinate deliveries, meet customer schedules, and identify backhaul opportunities.
- Innovate and Evolve: Evaluate customer requests for new products or services and recommend actionable steps to address their needs.
- Maintain Excellence: Ensure quality standards by conducting vendor visits, maintaining records, and managing product rejections for timely resolution.
- Plan Ahead: Work with Sales, Purchasing, and Transportation teams to forecast needs, schedule deliveries, and ensure consistent product availability.
