Job Description:
Dandy Cooling Company is recruiting for a dynamic individual to provide human resources and accounting leadership for its operations in California and Arizona.
Based in Salinas, CA, the Human Resources and Accounting Manager works closely with accounting and human resources personnel from our affiliated partners, Western Precooling and Duda Farm Fresh Foods to provide clear and accurate financial records and employee development support.

Requirements:
- Three or more year’s proven experience implementing human resources programs. Experience in the agriculture and produce industry a plus;
- Prior accounting experience, performing accounts payable, payroll and general ledger duties. Working knowledge of automated accounting systems, such as Great Plains;
- Conscientious, detail-oriented worker who is self-motivated;
- Good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to speak Spanish a plus;
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft suite of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the company, including senior-level executives to front-line workers;
- Experience working with individuals across different geographies and cultures, as well as with cross-division efforts in a large company.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Accounting:
- Processes all accounts payable transactions including vender bills and credit card charges, ensuring accuracy of each bill and proper classification;
- Generates vendor checks, working closely with Western Precooling and Duda Farm Fresh Farm Foods personnel to make sure all vendors are paid accurately and on time;
- Performs accounts receivable duties by accurate posting and classification of the daily receivable transactions, preparing deposit slips when needed, and maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of each day’s transactions;
- Works with Operations Manager to prepare daily and weekly management reports. Prepares financial reports for management as needed;
- Processes payroll on a weekly basis. This includes maintaining employee records, processing vacation and PTO requests, calculation of hours and administering all garnishments and withholdings.
Human Resources:
- Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and helping resolve work-related problems;
- Benefits administration --, conducts new hire and exit interviews, ensuring employees understand their benefit coverages. Administers 401(k) and health plans. Responsible for employee verification, unemployment and disability claims.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policy, fair employment practices and government regulations;
- Works closely with Human Resources Director to train managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes. Conducts investigations on employee relations issues as needed.
- Manage employee documentation such as Employee Handbook and disciplinary communications;
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives;
- Assists in identifying staff vacancies and recruits, interviews and select applicants.
