Job Description: 

Village Farms has almost thirty years of experience in the hydroponics greenhouse industry. Beginning with just ten acres of greenhouse facilities, Village Farms today operates more than 262 acres, and markets an additional 120 acres of greenhouse. We are the leading vegetable greenhouse producer and supplier in North America, and have earned a reputation in the industry.

We are currently looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join our team in East Kingsville, Ontario.

As the Logistics Coordinator you are responsible for verifying and keeping records on outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment by performing the specified duties to quality and productivity standards. You are also responsible for all of the administrative work associated with the shipping of products in an efficient and timely manner.

Requirements: 
  • High school diploma preferred or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Previous experience (2 - 4 years) of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must have good command of the English language, oral and written.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment and decision-making.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel).
  • Overall knowledge of the Transportation Industry including fuel costs, mileage rates, trends, stop off charges and trip costs.
  • Weekends and Holidays required.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Inspect and operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move, hoist and load product for shipments as specified.
  • Prepare, verify, update and maintain various shipping records (BOL’s, packing lists, shipping log, I-trade).
  • All data entry necessary in AXAPTA including registration, shipping, packing out orders, Purchase Orders and Sales Orders.
  • Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of the product; CHEP Pallet tracking.
  • Tag product for shipping and record daily inventories.
  • Serve as a backup to the Sales Support Specialist.
  • Assist in pack house as needed (pallet tags, wrapping pallets, etc).
  • Assist in correspondence with Sales, Transportation, and others at both GNH and VF as needed.
  • Create journals for inventory (Axapta).
  • Assist with import/export process to ensure compliance with USA, Canada and other foreign government laws and regulations.
