We are currently looking for a Food Safety Coordinator to join our team in Vina, CA just 20 minutes north of Chico, CA.
As the Food Safety Coordinator your primary responsibility is to coordinate with the Production Supervisor to manage all aspects of the Food Safety Program. You are responsible for supervising the sanitation team and ensuring that they are completing their tasks in a timely manner. You are also responsible for improving food safety process and making sure that we have all the proper documentation needed for inspections.
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Food Safety inspection
- Working knowledge of, application of, and ability to create HACCP plans. HACCP certification is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, customers, vendors and management
- Effective problem solver with the ability to work independently
- Possess strong leadership skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must have the ability to make sound decisions, capable of communicating and reporting functions both verbal and written
Daily:
- Must review all paperwork daily for tasks being completed correctly in a timely manner
- Must review the entire plant to ensure all programs are being adhered to
- Must verify all work done by the sanitation crew through inspection
Weekly:
- Swab according to our Novalum swab program in order to verify our cleaning techniques and schedule is working as intended, record data and analyze to propose any possible changes in the Sanitation program
- Meet with the sanitation crew an address any issues that may have arisen and discuss game plan for upcoming week
- Check all cleaning equipment and supplies have been delivered as expected and in good condition
- Complete any evaluation and retraining needed to ensure all staff members understand procedures and expectations related to the Food Safety Program
Monthly:
- Coordinate a facility inspection with a team of managers, document any findings and address how to correct within the department in a way that meets our food safety standards, assign to the correct person and follow up to ensure the action took place
- Attend the Management meeting and present any changes or updates to any processes within the Food Safety Program
- Oversee the Environmental Swabbing Program, ensure the correct departments are sampled at the correct time and the results are at or below the thresholds set forth in the Food Safety Program
Annually:
- Review the entire Food Safety Manual and update the DCR while documenting any changes that may have occurred
- Conduct a management review on all programs and documents within the Food Safety Program according the Management Review SOP between the months of June and August
- Oversee water testing on all water used in our sanitation program according to the Water Testing SOP between the months of June and August
- Must be responsible for any disciplinary action related to Food Safety that takes place and its documentation
- Must be able to comply with any rules and regulations set by the company
