Professional Tribe LLC. provides business and professional services to food and agribusiness companies in the areas of Legal and Compliance, IT, Human Resources, Purchasing, Finance, and Accounting. In addition, Protribe serves as a family office. ProTribe seeks out and evaluates investment opportunities to add to an established horticultural platform as well as new investments within the food and agribusiness industries. Protribe also manages a real estate portfolio.

We’re on the lookout for a Corporate Senior Accountant who will play a key role in managing the day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring financial integrity, and supporting strategic business decisions. *This position requires occasional business travel. 

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance.
  • Oversee general ledger, journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and monthly reconciliations.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including audit and tax preparation.
  • Manage treasury activities, including cash flow management, receivables, payables, and cash forecasting.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies.
  • Assist with tax filings, including income, sales, and payroll taxes, and coordinate with tax advisors.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and provide financial insights to management for decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior accountants and collaborate across departments for accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support year-end audits.
  • Perform financial analysis and ad hoc projects as requested by management.
  • Performs all duties following environmental, food safety, safety rules and regulations 
  • Other duties as assigned.

*Range: $97,850 to $114,195 annually. The compensation range for this role is determined by factors such as location and required skills. The salary range provided reflects the lowest to highest amount we reasonably anticipate paying for this position at the time of posting. Compensation is influenced by labor market conditions and various factors, including but not limited to: the prevailing minimum wage in the area, relevant education, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue targets, and business needs. It is not typical for a new hire to be offered the highest end of the salary range. Pay decisions are made based on the unique circumstances of each candidate and position. Requirements
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting/general ledger, including corporate tax provisions. 
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with managing multiple entities is required.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • CPA preferred though not required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required. 
  • Ability to lead and provide guidance to peer groups 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.  
  • Prior experience with an ERP, preferably Navision, is preferred.   
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and eligibility for and to maintain company vehicle insurance.  
  • Financial statement preparation skills 

Physical Requirements
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk or hear; and occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities by this job include close distance and color vision.
