We are seeking a Wholesale Fresh Produce Buyer and sales “all in one” (Fully Remote with Light Travel) for NOR CAL, Oregon (OR), Washington (WA), British Columbia (BC), Pacific Northwest (PNW).
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement/Sourcing Buyer/Sales to join our team in the Pacific Northwest region, encompassing Oregon, Washington, California, and British Columbia.
Position Details:
- Fully Remote: This is a fully remote position, allowing you the flexibility to work from your preferred location within the Pacific Northwest region.
- Light Travel: While this role is primarily remote, there will be occasional light travel required, estimated at 2-3 days per month, to facilitate in-person interactions with suppliers and growers. Reimbursement is provided for fuel and meal expenses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers/growers/ and customers (retail, food service, and wholesalers) in the Pacific Northwest to ensure a consistent and high-quality supply of apples, pears, cherries, and blueberries.
- Responsible for sales and sourcing to ensure that all purchases along with sales orders maintain a strong margin (FOB)
- Oversee the procurement process, from sourcing/sales and negotiation to contract management, ensuring competitive pricing and product quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet sales targets and manage inventory effectively.
- Analyze market trends, anticipate supply chain challenges, and implement strategies to mitigate risks and optimize procurement operations.
- Implement sustainable and responsible sourcing practices in line with industry standards.
- Procurement within California’s Central Valley
Requirements:
- Proven experience in procurement sourcing and sales of fresh produce, with a focus on apples, pears, cherries, and blueberries.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, quality standards, and market dynamics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Willingness to travel 2-3 days per month within the Pacific Northwest region.
