Stout is an artificial intelligence company located in Salinas, California helping growers automate labor-intensive field work like weeding. Founded in 2019, we sold our first Smart Cultivator in 2020 and now have machines with thousands of hours on them.
Today, we continue to apply AI to agriculture through new products, data and services to help growers increase their margins and reduce their costs.
We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Salinas, CA.
The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with the Chief Product Designer and production team to carry out any product design iterations, enhancements, or implementations of new features that are required to achieve Stout’s ambitious production plans, and ultimately interfacing with vendors and contract manufacturers.
Areas of Responsibilities:
- Proficient with SolidWorks, including final critical design drawing packages and GD&T
- Identify cost reduction opportunities to management’s attention and implement as directed
- Maintain vendor application engineering relationships & leverage their resources to accelerate product developments
- Communicate with manufacturing technicians & develop detailed instruction writing for assembly processes
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Robotics/Mechatronics Engineering
- 6+ years of experience, direct hands-on experience testing & fabricating new systems in a prototype-to-series production “big” manufacturing industry
- Must possess strong active-listening and verbal communication skills as well as problem solving & troubleshooting skills
- High integrity; honest & transparent
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, PLM/Inventory Control Software

Salary: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
