The Hain Celestial Group is has an excellent opportunity for a Buyer /Sr. Buyer in the natural and organic food industry.

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Work with Hain planning team to contract, secure, and coordinate the delivery of ingredients (including Conventional, Organic, Dry, Fresh, and IQF) to meet scheduled production dates
- Responsibilities include bid analysis, comparative cost control, order placement, expediting, vendor management, and validation of demand forecast
- Negotiate best price, delivery date, and commercial terms
- Maintain inventory levels and assist with coordinating sales or discard of excess / expired materials
- Develop new supplier relationships, cultivate existing ones, and identify qualified second sources.
- Work with QA to ensure suppliers remain qualified to meet Hain requirements.
- Provide productivity projects (cost savings initiatives) and work with team to complete within the fiscal year
- Establish flat pricing for yearly budgets while pursuing lower costs on key commodities year round
- Track key commodities and work with suppliers to hedge purchases when it makes reasonable sense. Maintain knowledge of changes or trends in commodity markets.
- Develop global sourcing strategies to support year round production
- Interface with Marketing, QA, and R&D to develop new offerings which meet Hain standards
- Perform/ Audit annual physical at each co packer and reconcile inventory levels
- Leverage and combine purchasing within all Hain Brands
- Work with internal transportation team on optimizing supply chain through alternative shipment methods and sourcing raw materials closer to co packer / manufacturing locations
- Ensure budgeted PPV numbers are achieved and variances explained
Education:
- 4-Year College Degree
Qualifications:
- Three to five years direct purchasing experience in the food industry (Fruit / Vegetable preferred)
- Computer skills including, but not limited to Access, Excel and Word
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and multitask
