Cost Accountant

Wileman Bros & Elliott, Inc is a grower, packer and shipper focusing on the citrus of all commodities. We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in Cutler, CA.

Job Responsibilities:

• Experience in Famous Software is required
• Collecting and analyzing data about a company’s operational costs
• Setting standard costs of manufactured goods
• Developing and analyzing cost standards
• Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis, including for small businesses
• Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
• Performing account reconciliations
• Preparing audit reports and presenting their findings to management
• Recommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
• Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
• Managing the company’s balance sheet and accounting books
• Supporting other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Famous Software required
• Agricultural based Cost Accounting, preferred
• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions and Cost Accounting
• Skills in Cost Analysis and Standard Cost Accounting
• Proficiency in Budgeting and Forecasting
• Strong skills in Account Reconciliation
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
