Gem-Pack Berries is seeking a Logistics and Inventory Control Manager to join their team!

Position Summary:

The Logistics and Inventory Control Manager oversees the accurate tracking, storage, and distribution of frozen strawberry products. This role manages inventory and logistics to ensure accurate entry, traceability, optimal stock levels, coordinating with distribution centers and storage facilities, and processing customer orders. The role involves preparing and presenting regular reports to management and working closely with sales and management to resolve inventory issues. The ideal candidate will possess a flexible, team-oriented management style. 

This position requires strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal departments as well as external partners, including customers, warehouses, and transportation operations. This is an in-personal position located in Oxnard, California. 

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Enter and track inventory data for all frozen strawberry products produced and purchased by GP Anacapa into the MIS system
  • Ensure accurate product-lot traceability for all inventories using assigned lot numbers
  • Conduct monthly inventory checks with cold storage facilities to ensure accurate inventories by specific lot numbers
  • Enter all customer orders into system with correct pricing and terms as directed by sales
  • Issue Shipping Orders (SO’s) to both customer and cold storage detailing shipping and FOB instructions
  • Ensure accurate invoicing to customers using cold storage Bills of Lading (BOL’s) with correct lot information, item numbers, and sales order pricing
  • Oversee weekly logistics to optimize inventory levels across multiple Distribution Centers (DC’s) for major retail account(s)
  • Provide logistical and customer service support as needed
  • Maintain seasonal Master Contract files by customer, for sales bookings, and terminated contracts
  • Collaborate with Sales to ensure all terms & conditions for all sales orders are accurate
  • Balance frozen strawberry inventories with customer orders and bookings
  • Regularly update General Manager and Sales on inventory status and identify & troubleshoot potential issues for early resolution
  • Provide monthly product shipping totals by customer and issue excess inventory reports to management
  • Review for accuracy and approve all cold storage and transportation invoices
  • Work directly with General Manager to coordinate optimal timing for off-season repack operations based on current inventory positions

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Position may have responsibility in developing managing administrative staff

Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred
  • 2-3 Years of experience in inventory or logistics management or related field
  • Previous experience working in Food Manufacturing, Frozen Fruit, or cold storage operations highly preferred
  • Experience with customer service and providing logistical support in a fast-paced environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of inventory management systems preferably Sage or similar platforms
  • Strong knowledge of traceability methods including the use of lot numbers for inventory tracking
  • Exceptional attention to detail for accurate inventory entry and record keeping
  • Strong organization and time-management skills, with ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners including customers and vendors
  • Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, inventory tracking software, and other logistics tools

Compensation Range: The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000- $95,000 annually. The actual salary offered will be determined based on several factors including experience, skills, job-related knowledge and work location.
