The North American Blueberry Council (NABC) is a voluntary organization based in Folsom, California representing highbush blueberry growers throughout the United States and Canada. The NABC provides a voice for the blueberry industry bringing issues of importance to the attention of legislators and other decision makers, provides the blueberry industry with statistical data and crop information, and administers the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC) program.
The USHBC is a national research and promotion program established by a vote of the blueberry industry in the year 2000. The program, which functions under the direction of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is funded by mandatory assessments on both domestic and imported highbush blueberries. USHBC committees cover a range of areas from good management practices and industry relations to promotion and health research efforts for highbush blueberries.
