In 1936 W.B. Camp began farming in Kern County, and was later joined by his son Don. They farmed acreage in cotton as well as other row crops, operated a seed potato farm in the state of Washington and a cattle operation in South Carolina. Besides the farming operations they also operated cotton gins and farm machinery companies. W.B. Camp & Sons became D.M.
