Welcome to the Western Growers Association...
Formed in 1926 in California's Imperial Valley, Western Growers was known as the Western Growers Protective Association. It began as a marketing protective organization to combat rate hikes instituted by the railroads. Our philosophy then was that there is strength in numbers and that tradition lives on today. Bringing the industry together to support common goals remains a cornerstone of the association's strategy and purpose.
Today, Western Growers is an agricultural trade association whose members from Arizona and California grow, pack and ship 90 percent of the fresh fruits, nuts and vegetables grown in California and 75 percent of those commodities in Arizona. This totals about half of the nation’s fresh produce.
For more than 85 years, Western Growers has been dedicated to improving the competitiveness and profitability of our membership based in the farmlands of California and Arizona. As one of the nation's leading agricultural trade associations, it is our vision to guide our members toward a healthy, sustainable and profitable future. We are dedicated to providing quality services and programs that benefit and enhance the competitiveness of our members.
