In May 2015, company StePac was acquired by Johnson Matthey Group, a global leader in sustainability technologies. StePac has joined Johnson Matthey's Atmosphere Control Technologies business within the corporation's New Business Division.

The Xtend® brand serves the fresh produce industry with post-harvest, modified atmosphere/humidity packaging solutions custom engineered for each fruit/vegetable type while the Carerite® sterilization and infection control brand is sold to medical, dental and veterinary clinics.
