Our Story
Founded in 1988 by Frank and Phil Gilardi, Freshway Foods has grown to provide consistently superior fresh-cut and repack produce solutions to the 25 states located east of the Mississippi, which is also home to over 60% of the U.S. population.
Starting from very humble beginnings, Freshway first operated out of a small 7,000 sq foot facility in Sidney, Ohio and began expansions in 1992 with the construction of a new processing plant. A second facility was added in 1996 to accommodate the continued growth of the company.
In 2000, the business was consolidated into an even larger facility, which today boasts more than 100,000 square feet. Always building on a foundation of excellent customer service, the Freshway team continually strives to find ways to more effectively support a very diverse customer base. A continued investment in state-of-the-art facilities with highly advanced refrigeration and processing technologies reflects our commitment to efficiency and flexibility in meeting our customers’ needs.
This steadfast commitment has made Freshway Foods one of the largest regional fresh-cut processing company in the United States.
