Job Description: 

We are looking for an Assistant Facilities Engineer to join our team in running multiple Fresh and Frozen Vegetable production facilities in Moss Landing, CA. This person will assist in implementing policies and procedures, recommend improvements in production methods and assist in operational needs. 

There are various responsibilities and tasks required in this role, including but not limited to disciplines related to Electrical, Chemical and Mechanical Engineering. 

Responsibilities & Duties: 

  • Determining if equipment and facilities are meeting daily needs for production targets 
  • Assess new equipment needs, cost analysis and installation timelines to maximize efficiency 
  • Planning and managing equipment and infrastructure maintenance needs 
  • An understanding of City, County and State regulations 
  • Work with other Team Members to meet facility compliance needs 
  • Work with the maintenance department on facility needs, production lines, and refrigeration system (including some software programs) 
  • Assist with recommending and overseeing contractors on site doing maintenance tasks 
  • Assist with coordinating seasonal transition to and from Moss Landing, California and Yuma, Arizona 
  • Assist with external partners and vendors negotiating costs and contracts 
  • Experience in the Rockwell Studio 5000 Suite with an emphasis in RS Logix 5000. 
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with all departments and maintain strong working relationships 
  • Assist in ensuring Safety requirements are being met 

Requirements: 

  • 3 years of experience in the Fresh Vegetable / Leafy Greens environment conducting maintenance and engineering 
  • An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, costs, and employee relations 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities 
  • High attention to detail 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Strong team player 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
