About Us: We are a leading provider of fresh produce and other food products. We repack and distribute in and around the DFW area and are committed to delivering the highest quality and freshest products to our customers. 

The Transportation Manager will manage the truck’s maintenance schedule, assist in the documentation & registration, managing driver’s schedules & routes, the overall upkeep of the equipment and keeping all the driver and equipment compliant with DOT regulations.  The right candidate will be responsible for establishing and implementing best practices in safety, compliance, maintenance, procurement, driver recruitment and retention. Responsibilities include implementing strategies to ensure ongoing compliance to FMCSA and other regulatory requirements. ELD/Hours of Service, tablet management, and analytical reporting expertise are also requirements of the position.

Responsibilities:

•    Supervises the daily work and safety of delivery drivers, including adherence to standard operating procedures, adherence to planned routes, and providing safe and efficient customer service.
•    Ensures Delivery driver compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. DOT, FMCSA, etc.) and ensures that electronic logs are kept current and accurately.
•    Prepares work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed.
•    Reviews delivery functions and productivity reporting.
•    Ensure all the necessary paperwork is completed.
•    Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with implementation of delivery changes.
•    Communicates with the GM to collaboratively resolve any customer or delivery opportunities or issues.
•    Conducts regular department or pre-shift meetings. Schedule the quarterly, monthly, weekly safety & regulatory meetings.
•    Keeps open communication channels with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures.
•    Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required.
•    Manage the fuel and maintenance expenses.
•    Occasionally may make a delivery, if necessary.
•    Performs other related duties as needed.

Requirements and Skills:

•    5 years’ experience as a transportation manager in a similar industry is required.
•    High school diploma or GED.
•    Knowledge of the transportation industry and DOT & state regulations.
•    Ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations. 
•    Basic computer knowledge.
•    Driver’s License, in good standing.
•    Perishable/refrigerated cargo experience.
•    Possess exceptional leadership skills.
•    Must possess excellent communication skills, organizational skills, problem solving skills.
•    Excellent multitasking abilities.
•    Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
