Job Description: 

Roka Bioscience is dedicated to developing rapid, highly accurate molecular assays and instrument systems for the Food Safety Industry. We provide food safety professionals with a fully automated molecular pathogen detection solution that delivers rapid, accurate results and improved laboratory efficiencies. Roka is here to partner with food manufacturers and help them reach the next level of food safety testing.

We are currently searching for a Segment Specialist of Produce to work remotely.

The Segment Specialist of Produce will be responsible for driving sales in the produce segment. You will become an expert within the produce segment and have the ability to convey the value proposition of Roka’s offering to that specific market.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related field
  • 3 or more years of successful sales experience that includes either technical or food industry sales.
  • Experience with complex sales.
  • Microbiology experience applicable to the Food Safety industry is a plus.
  • Pathogen testing products background is a plus.
  • Molecular diagnostics experience is a plus.
  • Laboratory sales experience, 3rd party sales experience a plus.
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Experience with "Solution Selling" methodology and/or consultative sales training.
  • Valid Driver License with a clean driving record for three (3) years.
  • Consultative sales approach experience, selling business solutions.
  • In- depth knowledge of the food industry, quality assurance and/or microbiology.
  • Technical acumen with basic molecular biology understanding, including knowledge of PCR.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving skills and a strong technical aptitude.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office software programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional presence.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage assigned segment to drive profitable sales growth by both direct placement of instruments or adoption of Atlas use by 3rd party labs using customer specification.
  • Take direction from Roka management and support strategies in each segment.
  • Initiate and take ownership of account planning, selling processes, pre & post sales implementation processes, and contract negotiations.
  • Responsible for cold calling, phone prospecting, web-based meeting and building relationships that will increase revenue growth while maintaining customer satisfaction and providing business solutions.
  • Keep all important sales opportunities, account management contacts, and activities accurate and current in salesforce.com database.
  • Develop and maintain business plans and results dashboards to communicate status on segment activity.
  • Represent Roka Bioscience in a professional manner exhibiting ethical business conduct at all times.
  • Implement, promote and provide input to improve sales and marketing strategies to grow the business.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude & leadership at meetings and when working with customers, sales & other functions.
  • Works independently with minimal guidance.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Account Managers to support assigned customers.
  • Travel, including overnights, up to 75%.
