Job Description: 

Growers Select Produce, a watermelon grower, packer, and shipper in South Texas, is looking for a highly motivated Sales and Logistics Coordinator. The coordinator will support the management of customer accounts, freight vendors, and all logistics within the sales order process. This role requires the ability to identify and complete tasks with minimum instruction and oversight, recognize and respond to opportunity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assists the sales team in servicing all customer accounts
  • Liaison for customers and vendors, providing all necessary updates and responses to inquiries
  • Monitor existing orders on daily basis
  • Receive, input, and process all inbound sales orders
  • Schedule delivery appointments for all orders, adjusting as needed
  • Manage freight process including communications, assignment of sales orders to vendors, and delivery confirmations and documentation
  • Work with leadership to analyze freight pricing, and evaluate and develop freight vendors
  • Work with sales and shipping teams to ensure accuracy in product shipments
  • Ship all orders in the system and update customers through online portals and email
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, truck drivers, and packing/shipping team on the product availability and delivery status of all shipments
  • Monitor and manage all trouble files/issues in a sales order including rejections, short shipments, damages etc.
  • Work alongside accounting, packing, and shipping teams to investigate and resolve sales order and/or inventory issues
  • Develop and provide leadership with reports around sales history, forecasting, and market trends
  • Work as part of a team, supporting accounting and operations teams as needs arise

Experience/Skills:

  • 2-3 years of relatable work experience (fresh produce industry preferred)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
  • Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
  • Must understand the need for an adaptable and flexible work schedule according to business/team requirements
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with team members, suppliers, managers, and business partners
  • Prior experience working with Excel/Google Sheets and modern software systems
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision
