The advantage of Yakima Fresh is a greatly diversified product mix of high volume Northwest Apples, Pears and Cherries. We operate four state-of-the-art packing and shipping warehouses in Washington and Oregon, each with comprehensive in-house quality control and food safety practices. Our multiple packaging capabilities afford us the flexibility to meet all our retail and wholesale customers’ needs. We also understand the importance of controlling the fruit from tree-to-table.

We are currently seeking an experienced Director of Marketing & Business Development. This position may be based in our Yakima, WA office or a satellite regional home office depending on the candidate.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Develop special in-store marketing programs for apples, pears and cherries and other POS materials.
  • Provide and interpret retailer category management data reports, compiled by outside source.
  • Design product packaging and labels in collaboration with outside design agencies.
  • Manage and design trade publication ads in collaboration with outside ad agencies.
  • Maintain our website when additions, changes or updates are needed.
  • Coordinate all aspects of major produce trade shows, including booth design, logistics, personnel and product set-up.
  • Work with our Sales Account Managers to build sales with our existing customer base, and also solicit new retail and wholesale customer business.
  • Provide marketing support to our Sales Account Managers that will add value to their customer accounts.
  • Build strong customer relationships that will serve as the foundation for long-term continued business growth.
  • Plan and implement special projects as requested by management.
Education: 
  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing or Business is preferred.
Qualifications: 
  • 5-10 years of successful produce marketing skills and a strong business development track record.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of M.S. Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, and act independently and make competent decisions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and present meeting agendas and presentations to customers.
  • Solid planning and organizational skills.
  • Produce knowledge and retail merchandising experience are required.
  • Category management experience is a plus.
  • Up to 40% overnight travel is required.
