We are currently looking for an experienced Transportation Sales Professional in Blackwood, NJ.
The right candidate will have experience as a truck broker/transportation sales professional with an established customer base and/or a loyal following of carriers. You will be a motivated team player who also works well independently, is persistent in making sales, and provides impressive customer service and has an entrepreneurial attitude.
As a Transportation Sales Professional you are responsible for developing relationships with customers and arranging freight transportation to meet their needs. You must also create mutually-beneficial connections with carriers who are hired to transport the loads. Your compensation includes a base draw (depending on experience) and commission. A highly-motivated, successful employee can earn substantial commissions.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in transportation-related sales.
- Knowledge of 3PL, supply chain and freight transportation industry.
- A background in sales, preferably commissioned sales.
- Excitement about building and maintaining relationships with customers and carriers.
- Proficient in Truckload, and LTL operations.
- Experience with produce and refrigerated transportation.
- A strong work ethic and a sense of diligence.
- Familiarity with load consolidation services is a plus.
- Fearlessness in conducting sales over the phone, including cold calls.
- Excellent communication skills and positive interactions with others.
- General computer skills - proficiency with MS Office is necessary.
