We are currently seeking an experienced food Packaging Development Manager who will be responsible for developing and executing of all of our packaging development projects. This is a tremendous opportunity for you to make a significant impact in our organization. This is a highly collaborative newly created position, on a new and growing R&D team. As our Packaging Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing and reporting on all packaging development projects, from packaging brief to final delivery. You will be a key member of our global team and will work closely with Sales, QA and Supply Development to successfully bring new products to market.

Leveraging your strong understanding of food product packaging materials, markets, and trends to make recommendations on strategy, direction, and opportunities to innovate

Leading the cross functional teams on the execution of all new packaging development projects, from initial brief to project delivery

Tracking and managing all packaging development projects, regularly reporting development status to cross functional team, making recommendations for action, and ensuring timely delivery

Partnering with our plant resources and external packaging suppliers to realize packaging development goals and identify opportunities to innovate

Functioning as a technical expert for food materials and packaging systems, providing technical expertise, competitive benchmarks, and imaginative solutions on materials and systems issues

Supporting start up and operations at the our plant and co-packers as needed, both domestically and internationally

Working with customer counterparts to ensure Superior meets their requirements

4 Year College Degree preferred

Minimum 5 Years food industry packaging experience

Strong technical knowledge of food packaging industry, supply base, materials and processes

Strong knowledge of packaging equipment and materials supply systems

Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, meet critical project milestones, and communicate cross functionally

Very comfortable working with teams, communicating with people and establishing rapport

Experience in working with and collaboration with packaging suppliers
