Job Description: 

Peterson Farms is the largest privately owned fruit processor in Michigan. We are a family-owned and operated group of companies dedicated to providing the highest quality products to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. We are a state-of-the-art fresh-cut facility, focusing on the production of apples.

We are currently looking for a Private Label Retail Sales Manager to join our team in Shelby, MI.

As the Private Label Retail Sales Manager you are responsible for managing and overseeing the Private Label Sales of Peterson Farms products (Juice, Applesauce, Frozen and Fresh-cut Fruit). You are also responsible for the development of new business by prospecting, qualifying, selling, and closing sales to existing and prospective customers.  You will clearly define customer needs, assess their fit within the organization, establish and manage client expectations, and oversee the sales cycle to help obtain business goals.

The successful candidate will have experience in dealing with product marketers as well as retail distribution channels (FDM, Grocery, Drug, and Mass-Market).

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience selling into national retail accounts preferably grocery.
  • Experience in negotiating product placement in national retail accounts.
  • Experience driving private label sales.
  • Experience with managing broker relationships.
  • Experience with developing and launching a newly created brand.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Liaise between the customer and the organization to ensure effective and efficient communication of accurate information and adherence to collective business goals.
  • Establishes and maintain customer pricing consistent with Peterson Farms Inc.’s objectives.
  • Manage product mix, pricing margins, and promotional spend with existing and prospective retail customers.
  • Establishes realistic timelines and communicates them to the customer.
  • Maintains and develops effective working relationships with existing and prospective marketer and retail customers.
  • Works with the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer in developing a plan for managing Peterson Farms retail program.
  • Provides insight into delivering retail packaged ingredients to national retail accounts.
  • Meets revenue goals for retail sales.
  • Develops and delivers sales presentations.
  • Closes sales in a professional and effective manner.
  • Assists in sales forecasting and planning.
  • Reports field information back to the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer.
  • All other duties assigned.
